Notes - Rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Ilić during the friendly match against Uruguay played at the Stadion Crvena Zvezda, Belgrade on the 27 May 2006. This was the last game preparation game for the nation before it took place their first and only appearance at a major international tournament as Serbia & Montenegro, the 2006 World Cup held in Germany. The midfielder joined in the 79th minute and after Godin levelled the match. Saša Ilić made his debut in 2000 and went on to play for S&M 18 times before they both split. In this match the side wore the same squad numbers as at the tournament.
