Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Brown for the friendly match against Colombia, played at Giants Stadium in New Jersey on 31st February 2005. This was the first match between the sides since a 2-0 win for England at the 1998 World Cup when Darren Anderton and David Beckham bagged to give the Three Lions the win in Lens. England had never lost to their Colombian counterparts and that didn't change here as superb Michael Own hat-trick saw Sven-Göran Eriksson's side claim the bragging rights. Mario Yepes and Juan Ramírez scored what were only to be consolation goals for the South American outfit as England maintained their unbeaten record against Los Cafeteros. Brown didn't feature in this one with Glen Johnson replacing him in the match day squad just hours before kick-off. The 5 time Premier League winner earned 23 caps in total for his country between 1999-2010 scoring once and enjoyed club spells with Sunderland and Blackburn as well as his 14 year spell with United where he won two Champions League titles and a whole host of Premiership trophies.
