Notes - Pro-model Diadora Maximus boots released in 2006 ahead of the World Cup in Germany and famously worn by Italian legend Francesco Totti. These boots are made with a soft K-leather and TPU composite upper which is designed to offer soft touch and durable performance. Thie Maximus RTX 14 uses an off-centre lacing system that is hidden beneath a cover or a cleaner strike-zone, combined with a fold-over tongue which has been a classic Diadora component since the 90s. The back half uses a cross-stitched fibre for iimproved strength without excess weight, while an external heel counter delivers both protection and stability. 'Axeler' technology is incorporated into the outsole for increased flexion, along with 14 moulded studs for optimal traction on firm ground surfaces. Two colourways were used by Totti at the tournament that summer, with this blue and white edition featuring against Ghana in the group stages. The forward would play a key role as the Azzurri went on to beat France on penalities in the final and secure their fourth World Cup triumph.
