Notes - Mid-range Maximus boots released by Diadora during 2006. The Maximus R MD is from the popular silo that was worn by Roma and Italy legend Francesco Totti during Italy's triumphant 2006 World Cup campaign in Germany. This more affordable version comes with a cross-stitched synthetic upper for lightweight performance and a fold-over tongue synonymous with Diadora boots throughout history. DST (Diadora Soccer Technology) has been designed with a number of new performance characteristics to assist the modern style player including an improved PU outsole for comfort and flexibility. The soleplate comes with 12 moulded rubber studs to provide optimal traction on firm ground surfaces. This off-white and blue colourway is the same as the pro-model used several times by Francesco Totti during the 2006 World Cup, as he helped the Azzurri to an iconic 4th title following a a dramatic penalty shootout victory over France in the final.
