Namouchi started the match and came off on 58 minutes for Steve Marlet as Les Merlus looked to get back in the game. This was the Tunisian's first season back in France after signing from Rangers in the summer, he made 24 appearances in all competitions scoring 2 goals and helping Lorient to a 14th placed finish in Ligue 1. The midfielder stayed with the side until 2009 before joining German outfit Freiburg, he continued to be a key member of the Tunisian national side this season and earned 20 caps in total for his country between 2005-08.
