Zamora put the Hammers ahead just before the half time, but not long after Paul Dickov bagged a brace which momentarily gave the lead to Rovers who would go on to win the match 3-2 with a winner of the Kuqi after Harewood had equalised the match. Ferdinand played the 90 minutes and made a total of 38 appearances in his 3rd season at Upton Park. The season is remembered as the Hammers reached the 2006 FA Cup Final and finished a respectable 9th place on their return to the top flight.
