Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Klos for the Champions League Round of 16 1st Leg match against Villarreal, played at Ibrox on 22nd February 2006. The Gers had scraped through an incredibly tough Group H that had also contained Italian side Inter Milan, Porto and surprise Slovakian package Artmedia. The faced a Villarreal side that had topped their group and were yet to taste defeat in the competition. Román Riquelme gave the visitors the lead inside 10 minutes from the spot but his penalty was cancelled out on 22 minutes by Peter Løvenkrands. The Spanish outfit retook the lead through Diego Forlan beofre the break but a late Juan Peña own goal meant the match finish 2-2 with it all still to play for in Spain. Klos was an unused substitute for this one, Ronald Waterrues played the full match in goal and Klos often found himself playing second fiddle to the Dutchman this season making just 2 appearances. Rangers went on to draw 1-1 at El Madrigal and thus exited the competitions on away goals. Klos had joined the side in 1998 from German giants Borussia Dortmund where he had been a Champions League winner in 1997 and made just under 300 appearances for Rangers before retiring in 2007 after helping the Glasgow based side to 4 league titles. This shirt was primarily the side's third kit this season rather than a designated goalkeeper shirt
