Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Thompson for a match in the 2005-06 season. The midfielder entered his 4th season at Ewood after joining Rovers from Coventry City in 2002. He made just 8 appearances this season before joining North West rivals Wigan on a free transfer in January. Thompson's time with Blackburn had been hampered by injury but he did manage to get on the scoresheet once this season netting a goal in the thrilling 3-2 League Cup comeback against Charlton at The Valley when Mark Hughes's men scored 3 in the last 15 minutes to snatch victory in London. Thompson had come through the ranks at Liverpool but continued to struggle with injury later on his career and had spells with Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers before ultimately being forced into a somewhat early retirement in 2007 after making over 200 appearances in the English top flight.
