During the run to the Champions League Final, Lehmann broke the record for most consecutive games without conceding a goal with 10 matches and 853 minutes unbeaten, earning him the Champions League goalkeeper of the year award. He also featured in all of Arsenal's Premier League matches during the 2005-06 season keeping 16 clean sheets. The German international left the club after the 2007-08 season with an impressive record of 54 clean sheets in 148 appearances in the Premier League before returning home to Germany to play for Stuttgart. His time at the north London club was not entirely over however as he briefly came out of retirement to resign for the Gunners during the 2010-11 season due to an injury crisis.
