Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Hansson for the Euro 2004 Quarter Final against Holland played at Estádio Algarve, Faro/Loulé on the 26th June '04. Sweden had controversially progressed from the group stage following a 2-2 draw with Denmark in their final match which had the Italians and conspiracy theorists running wild. This was only the nation's third appearance at a European Championship Finals and they were looking to match their 1992 effort of reaching the Semi Finals here up against the Dutch. It was a tense contest down on the Algarve and there was little to choose between the two teams. A stalemate ensued and the scoreline was 0-0 after both 90 and 120 minutes and so it was to the dreaded penalty shoot-out. Holland finally found their shooting boots in a tournament penalty shoot-out though after going out on spot kicks in Euro 92, 96 and 2000 to hold their never and won 5-4. Zlatan and Mellberg were the culprits for missing their penalties. Hansson did not get the chance to take one as an unused substitute on the night as he was for the group matches also. The defender did represent his country 43 times though between 2001-09
