Helveg featured in 9 of the side's 12 qualifiers as Morten Olsen's side missed out on the Tournament in neighbouring Germany. The former Udinese and AC Milan man earned a superb 109 caps in total for his country between 1994-2007 appearing at 5 major tournaments and scoring at the win over Nigeria at France 98'. A Serie A and Champions League Winner with Milan Helveg retired in 2010 as his nation's fourth most capped player after a glittering career.
