Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Carignano for the friendly match against Holland played at the Amsterdam ArenA on the 12th February 2003. It is usually a classic when these two meet at a tournament, like 1978 or 1998, great moments. There was a moment of greatness in this game when Giovanni van Bronckhorst smashed home a long-range winner in the 87th minute. But there was little to write home about for Argentina who were wasteful infront of goal and frustrated by good defending by the hosts. Carignano had made his debut and two further appearances for his country so far this year but he was left on the bench for this match. The striker never played again at international level after this and struggled with injuries with his next club FC Basel
