Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been issued to or worn by Cox during the 2003-04 season. The former Crystal Palace and Bournemouth man joined the side this season from Burnley and made 37 appearances in all competitions as they narrowly avoid relegation from the First Division. A tense season came down to a nail-biting final day, The Gills played mid-table Stoke at The Britannia and knew a win would see them safe from relegation. They played out a 0-0 draw with The Potters but thankfully for Andy Hessenthaler's men their relegation rivals Walsall only beat Rotherham by one goal in a frantic 3-2 affair meaning Gillingham stayed up by the slimmest of margins. Cox went on to spend another 5 season with the club racking up just under 200 appearances before joining Maidstone United at the end of the 2007-08 campaign as his career winded down.
