Despite the hosts dominating the game the match finished 0-0 with Rafael van der Vaart and Tomáš Galásek spurning golden opportunities just before the break. Pasanen played the full match, the big Finn was embarking on his final season in the Dutch capital and made 11 appearances in all competitions as de Godenzonen claimed the Eredivisie title. He spent the majority of the season on loan at Portsmouth and chose to leave the club permanently at the end of the season for German outfit Werder Bremen. The 76 time Finnish intentional had made 59 appearances in his 4 years with the side notably helping Ajax to a League and Cup double in 2001-02.
