Notes - Ultra rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Meola for the 2002 World Cup in Korea & Japan. Team USA impressed at the tournament narrowly getting through a tough Group after drawing with co-hosts South Korea and beating Portugal 3-2 in a 5 goal thriller. They defeated noisy neighbours Mexico in the round of 16 thanks to goals from Brian McBride and Landon Donovan before facing Germany in the Quarter-Finals where they were sent home by a Michael Ballack header in a narrow 1-0 loss. Meola was third choice keeper for the tournament behind Kasey Keller and Brad Friedel who played all the sides games, this classic design Grey Nike template wasn't worn in a match at the tournament. Meola earned a superb 100 caps for USA between 1988-2006 and he appeared for his country in every single one of their games at Italia 90 and when they hosted the World Cup back in 1994. The former Virginia Cavalier played the majority of his career in the States with a variety of teams enjoying notable spells with Kansas City, Metrostars and New York Red Bulls.
