Player - Club Libertad midfielder Gustavo Morínigo #8
Features
Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Morínigo in the friendly match against England played at Anfield on the 17th April 2002. Both nations were preparing for the World Cup this summer in Korea & Japan. Cesare Maldini did not find out anything positive about his team here though as they were thrashed 4-0 on Merseyside by a rampant Three Lions. Michael Owen put the hosts ahead with Murphy and Vassell also on target before Celso Ayala put the ball into his own net. Morínigo made a late substitute appearance in this one, coming off the bench in the 82nd minute. He won 18 caps for Paraguay following his debut in 2001. This shirt was used in the second half only, the team wore shirts to a different specification in the first half with no stripes on the back giving space for the number to be printed.
