Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Caniza in the friendly match against England played at Anfield on the 17th April 2002. Both nation's were preparing for the World Cup that upcoming this summer in Korea & Japan. Cesare Maldini did not find out anything positive about his team here though as they were thrashed 4-0 on Merseyside by a rampant Three Lions. Michael Owen put the hosts ahead with Murphy and Vassell also on target before Celso Ayala put the ball into his own net. Caniza started the match at left back and played the full game. Now with Santos Laguna the defender had been to the '98 World Cup and would go on to play at 2006 & 2010 becoming the only Paraguayan to play at 4 consecutive editions of the tournament while representing his country an incredible 100 times in total. This shirt was used in the second half only, the team wore shirts to a different specification in the first half with no stripes on the back giving space for the number to be printed
