Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Smith for the 2002 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. The Three Lions faced the hosts Switzerland, Andrea Pirlo's Italy and Portugal in a tough group. They got off to a good start beating the hosts 2-1 in Zurich but  Maccarone put David Platt's side to the sword in Basel before they were outclassed by the Portuguese in the final game to finish bottom of the group. Smith played in all of the sides matches at the tournament where the home shirt was used in every game. Smith's impressive form in the Champions League for Leeds United made him a hot property and he had been given a full England debut the year before. The striker went on to play for Man United and pick up 17 senior caps in his international career
