Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been issued to Owen for the 2002 World Cup Group F match against Argentina played at Sapporo Dome, Japan on 7th June 2002. This was the Three Lion's second match of the tournament, having drawn 1-1 with Sweden last time out. They were able to go one better here, as they kept a clean sheet and David Beckham scored a penalty just before half-time after Owen was brought down by Pochettino, to record a 1-0 victory over old foes Argentina. The side could have won by more if Owen had not seen his shot cannon back out off the post earlier in the first half. The Liverpool striker played up until the 80th minute before being replaced as Sven-Göran Eriksson looked to close up shop. England drew 0-0 against Nigeria in their final group game, which meant they drew Denmark in the Round of 16 after finishing 2nd. Owen got on the scoresheet here during an impressive 3-0 win, before giving the side the lead against Brazil in the Quarter-Finals, only for Rivaldo and Ronaldinho to end England's World Cup dream. In total, the striker scored 40 international goals in 89 matches over a 10 year spell after first breaking onto the scene in 1998 as a teenage sensation
