The Blues had lost out to Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge back in November and were on the end of another drubbing here. Claudio Ranieri's side ran out 3-1 winners in the Midlands after goals from Zola, Gudjohnsen and Hasselbaink with Savage himself grabbing a consolation for Steve Bruce's men from the spot late on. The midfielder was in his first season with the side following his transfer from Leicester, he made 34 appearances in all competitions this season bagging 5 goals as the side finished 13th in the League. The Welsh international stayed with the club until 2005 when he joined Blackburn rovers, he continued to be an important player for the Wales squad this season and earned 34 caps in total for his country between 1995-2004.
