Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been prepared for Heskey ahead of the friendly match against Spain, played at Villa Park on 28th February 2001. This was the first meeting between the sides since The Three Lions shootout triumph at Euro 96' and England were again victorious here running out 3-0 winners in the Midlands. Nick Barmby opened the scoring on 38 minutes before substitutes Heskey and Ugo Ehiogu netted goals in the second half to give Sven-Göran Eriksson's side a big win in their brand new home kit. Heskey came on at half time for David Beckham and hadn't been on the pitch for more than 10 minutes before doubling England's lead. The former Leicester man earned 62 caps in total for his country between 199-2010 netting 7 goals and featuring at 4 major tournaments. This was the first time this classy English flag inspired home kit was worn and the design would carry on through to the 2002 World Cup were the side reached the Quarter-Finals. Heskey wore long-sleeves in this game against Spain and this is believed to have been a spare prepared to match specifications ahead of the fixture.
