Notes - Home shirt worn when Ireland reached the Second Round of the 2002 World Cup, but Keane didn't make it past the Saipan training camp. Rather, the hot-headed United star decided to go twelve rounds with manager Mick McCarthy, unleashing a now-famous vitriolic tirade attacking the state of the organisation, facilities and competency of the FAI's preparation. Keane subsequently returned home, where a factional 'civil war' brewed in Irish society about who was to blame and resulted in a private inquest into the kerfuffle. Unusually, Keane expressed remorse for his outburst, although in typical fashion an apology was out of the question
