Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been issued to or worn by Sorensen during the 2001-02 season. This would be Sorensen's penultimate season with the side, he made 34 appearances as the Black Cats finished a disappointing 17th, 4 points above the drop zone. Peter Reid led the side to a 7th place finish the previous year, but could not replicate the success on the pitch this time around. Sorensen enjoyed a successful spell in the North East after joining from Odense in the summer of 1998. He stayed with the side until 2003 when he switched to Aston Villa after making just under 200 appearances for the club.
