Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Banin during the Euro 2000 qualifying play-off 2nd leg match against Denmark played at Idraetsparken, Copenhagen on 17th November 1999. The side reached this stage after finishing 2nd in Group 6, ahead of Austria on goal difference. They had never qualified for the European Championships before and this presented their best chance of doing so yet. However, a crushing 5-0 defeat at home in the 1st leg left the side with an almost impossible job to try and overturn the deficit. This match finished in similar fashion with Denmark comfortable winners after goals from Sand, Nielsen and Tomasson had the game wrapped up after 65 minutes. Banin captained the side, playing the full 90 minutes, but was unable to inspire his team to pull off a miracle. The defensive midfielder earned his first cap in 1990 and went on to represent Israel for 13 years, making 80 appearances and scoring 12 goals, whilst captaining from 1997-03. He played for various Israeli club teams such as Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv, whilst spending time abroad with Cannes and Brescia
