Notes - Rare player specification shirt believed to have been prepared for Johnson during the 1999-00 season. The youngster had joined the Hornets youth set-up, coached by his father Gary Johnson, after he had departed Arsenal and left without making a first team appearance for the side. He departed for Brighton in 2000 where he made just one appearance. From there, he went on to have a 13-year playing career which saw him achieve three promotions - all while playing under his father's management. Johnson retired at 31 to become the Football League's youngest manager when he took the reigns at Oldham and made an instant impact as he guided the Latics to safety. That season saw the first father versus son management clash in the Football League since the 1970s. Johnson went on to follow in his father's footsteps to manage Bristol City where he stayed for four years. The Hornets suffered relegation this season as they finished rooted to the bottom of the division
