After an impressive season at Quilmes, the youngster was signed alongside with fellow team-mate Jorge Bolaño in 1999. With high hopes for the Colombian, his time 5 year spell at the Crociati was very limited, appearing only 6 times in total and was loaned out twice to Hellas Verona and Piacenza. In the end, Montano returned to his boyhood club.
