Notes - Rare goalkeeper shirt as worn in the first season post-Schmeichel. Aussie stopper Mark Bosnich faired reasonably well as the side retained the Premiership title. Italian keeper Massimo Taibi signed from Venezia was a disaster letting a tame Le Tisser drive through his legs in a 3-3 draw with Southampton and making countless errors in a 5-0 drubbing at Chelsea. Sir Alex Ferguson's patience ran out after just 4 games and swiftly sold him back to Italy in January. Taibi will go down as one of the biggest flops in Premiership history.
