This design was famously worn at the '98 World Cup and then in qualification for Euro 2000 when Heintze was a regular at the left back for Bo Johansson. The side reached the Quarter Finals at the World Cup 98 only losing out 3-2 to Brazil and went on to make it to the Finals in Holland & Belgium thanks to a Play-Off thrashing of Israel 8-0 on aggregate after finishing runners-up to Italy in the group stages. Heintze developed most of his at PSV and enjoyed spells at Kastrup Boldklub, Bayer Uerdingen and Bayer Leverkusen. The stalwart defender went on to win 86 caps for the DBU between 1987 and 2002.
