The industrious midfielder made 130 appearances at The Dell, scoring 13 goals and establishing himself as an influential box-to-box centrepiece, he later joined Ipswich Town following a short spell in South Yorkshire and remained at Portman Road until his retirement in 2006 where he turned immediately to management. Saints themselves finished 12th in the Premiership this season. Magilton continued to be a key player for the Northern Irish national side and earned 52 caps in total for his country between 1991-2002.
