Barry made his debut towards the end of the 1997-98 campaign coming on as a substitute in a 3-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday. The following season Barry became an essential part of the Villa squad and would go on to make 30 or more Premier League appearances for Villa in 10 of his next 11 seasons before signing for Manchester City. He also made his way into the England squad whilst still a teenager, making 6 appearances in 2000 and earning 53 caps before international retirement. Barry also currently holds the record for most Premier League appearances
