Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Donis for the 1998 World Cup Qualification UEFA Group 1 match against Denmark, played at Idraetsparken in Copenhagen on 9th October 1996. Both sides had won their opening group game and was the first meeting between the two nations since a thumping 7-1 win for the Danes back in 1989. This one was a much closer affair. Theo Zagorakis opened the scoring but at the wrong end the POAK man inadvertently fired into his own net after just 25 minutes. But the Greeks weren't behind for long though with Donis himself rifling a superb free-kick past Peter Schmeichel to level the scores before the break. Brian Laudrup's cracking second half solo effort proved the difference in the end however, final score 2-1. Donis played the full match as Greece went on to finish 3rd in their group just 1 point behind runners-up Croatia. The midfielder earned 24 caps in total for his country between 1991-97 bagging 4 goals and later had spells with the likes of Blackburn, Sheffield United and Huddersfield at club level.
