The Owls recorded 13th and 15th place finishes in the top flight during this time, Nolan was ever present in the side's defence racking up 53 appearances in 1994-95 alone. he had joined the club from Tranmere Rovers in the summer of '94 and stayed at Hillsborough until 2000 when he joined Yorkshire rivals Bradford City after making over 200 appearances for the Owls. He earned his first cap for the Northern Irish national side whilst at Wednesday and featured 17 times in total for his country between 1996-2002. The full back later had spells with Wigan and Southport before retiring in 2003.
