Notes - Rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Bowman during the 1994 FIFA World Cup Group 1 Qualifying match against Italy played at Stadio Olympico, Rome on 13th October 1993. Scotland had a slight chance of reaching the finals in the USA going into their final 2 matches, but a 3-1 defeat here made sure that they would not reach the World Cup for the first time in over 20 years. Donadoni and Casiraghi put Italy up inside 16 minutes, before Kevin Gallacher replied moments later to get the Scots back into the contest. However, Eranio's goal 10 minutes from time all but ensured Scotland's fate. Bowman started the match, before being replaced in the 70th minute, which also happened to be the final of his 6 senior caps that he earned for his country. He spent the majority of his club career with Dundee United over a 12 year period, amassing over 400 club matches, where he played in the 1987 UEFA Cup Final and also won the 1993-94 Scottish Cup.
