The minnows suffered an expected hammering at the hands of the Dutch who ran out 6-0 winners with goals from van den Brom, de Wolf, de Boer and van Vossen. Mazza played the full match and featured in 9 of the side's 10 qualifiers as they finish bottom of Group 2 but did pick up a point in this campaign though, drawing 0-0 with Turkey and gave England a scare famously taking the lead in the match in Bologna. He earned 22 caps in total for his country between 1987-97.
