Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Hughes during a friendly match against the Netherlands held at Galgenwaard, Utrecht on the 30th May 1992. The match finished with a 4-0 humbling for the visitors, after goals from Bryan Roy, Marco van Basten, Aron Winter and Wim Jonk wrapped up a comprehensive victory for the Dutch in a warm up match before they headed to Sweden for Euro 1992. Wales had narrowly missed out on qualifying for the competition after finishing 1 point behind Germany in Group 5. Hughes came on in the 82nd minute as a substitue for Clayton Blackmore. The midfielder was capped 8 times by his country, whilst spending most of his career with Luton where he played over 175 games during an 8 year spell. This shirt was the first time the side had returned to Umbro as their manufacturer after a 16 year absence.
