Notes - Very rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Björklund during the 1994 World Cup Group 6 Qualification match against Finland played at the Olympiastadion in Helsinki on 9th September 1992. This was Swedens first match in qualification for USA 94' whereas their opponents Finland has already lost their opening game at home to Bulgaria 3-0. Both sides donned the iconic Adidas 1992 template with the hosts Finland in White and the Swedes in their trademark yellow. An open game saw good chances at both ends of the pitch with Thomas Ravelli making some acrobatic saves to keep the Finns at bay. A late penalty saw Klas Ingesson send the Finnish keeper the wrong way to hand the win and the two points to Blågult. Björklund played the full 90 minutes and the Swedes had an impressive qualifying campaign topping a tough group and losing just one game to an Eric Cantona inspired France. They did the double over noisy neighbours Finland winning the return fixture in Stockholm 5-0. Björklund earned earned 79 caps for his country between 1992-00 featuring at 3 major tournaments including USA 94'. The centre back enjoyed spells with various teams across Europe including Rangers, Valencia, Venezia and Sunderland.
