Notes - Extremely rare player shirt believed to have been worn by Swain during the UEFA Cup 3rd Round 2nd leg tie against Celtic played at Celtic Park, Glasgow on 7th December 1983. Forest had beaten Vorwärts Frankfurt and PSV in the previous rounds to reach this stage, hoping to replicate their European triumphs of the '79 and '80. The 1st leg finished 0-0 at the City Ground, which was mostly marred by crowd trouble. Therefore it was all to play for going into the 2nd leg, which saw the Tricky Trees managed to secure a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Steve Hodge and Colin Walsh, before McLeod got one back in the 79th minute to set up a tight finish. Forest went on to defeat Sturm Graz in the Quarter-Finals before agonisingly losing out 3-2 to Anderlecht in the Semi's despite leading 2-0 from the 1st leg. Swain played the full match, just as he did in the first leg, going on to make over 50 appearances for Forest this season, and play in over 120 matches during his 2 and a half year stint there after switching from Aston Villa in 1993
