Nando made 4 appearances before moving to Espanyol in January of the campaign. He had joined the club in '92 in a controversial move from rivals Barcelona via Sevilla. The side finished a disappointing 6th place in La Liga and lost out to Juventus in the Champions League Quarter Finals in this season.
